How to Discover Amazon Prime Day Deals Before they go Live

How to Discover Amazon Prime Day Deals Before they go Live

If you have a newer model of the Amazon Echo Smart Speaker and are trying to score awesome deals on prime day – you’re in luck.

An option that is available for U.S.-based Prime members who use newer versions of the Echo smart speaker will inform you of upcoming deals for products you have saved in your Wish List, shopping cart or Saved for Later queue. The setting is called “advanced deal alerts”, and it will let you know about deals on these items up to 24 hours before they’re available.  There is also the option to purchase the item as soon as the discount goes live.

To take advantage of the Alexa-powered deal alert:

  • Using the Alexa mobile app, navigate to More > Settings > Notifications > Amazon Shopping. Next, hit Shopping Recommendations and then Deal Recommendations

  • Add products you’re interested in to your Wish List, Shopping Cart or Saved for Later Queue

  • When Alexa notices that there is an upcoming deal on a product you’ve saved, the yellow ring on your echo device will engage, or you’ll see a pop on your device.

  • From there, you can Ask Alexa, “Alexa, what are my notifications?”

  • You can then either ask Alexa to remind you about the deal, or you can instruct her to order it when it goes live. If you ask Alexa to purchase the product, the default card and address on your account will be used.

For the record, this alert feature is actually available all year round – but it’s especially convenient during Prime Day when you want to score an amazing lightning deal before anyone else.
